Bridgetown fort firing on me

L0M3N

Sailor
But Britain is neutral towards me.
And I'm flying their flag.
I'm trying to escort Albion
for the main quest.

I tried my flag as well.

well, you could try going to spreightstown over land, having the shipyard haul your ship over there, hoisting the french flag and then sailing off.

I'm not sure what you mean.
I'm supposed to moor at Bridgetown for a quest.
I can't because every time I come near it the fort shoots at me.
But it shouldn't be shooting me.

then land at a beach, walk to bridgetown over land, try to fix your ship at the shipyard (thus teleporting it) and wing it from there. it might not work though, since you probably need to actually moor in bridgetown to trigger the quest properly.

Yes Lom3n needs to moor at Bridgetown. There was a time when forts would fire on you if you only had a Letter of Marque with that nation, but that was fixed long ago.

What you have here is a rare random bug. Have you tried sailing from Port Royale to Bridgetown again? If so, then you will need to go back, maybe two saves to "reset" the quest.

it doesn't seem to fire on me if my ship sinks and I end up in a tartane...
Is there any penalty for escaping death in a tartane, aside from your ship sinking?

not that i know of. i'm not sure what happens to your officers though. of course, you should consider the consequences of losing your cargo, should you have anything on board that's quest-related.

all right I managed to dock at Bridgetown.
I think for some reason my 2 current ships were causing it.
When I boarded a new ship and swapped over to it
and then went to Barbados the fort didn't attack me.

I need more help.
I'm supposed to sail away from Speightstown in a stolen frigate
but for some reason one of my other ships is in the harbor with me.
Even though I parked it at Bridgetown.
And every time I try and sail off the French Class 3 Advanced Battleship broadsides my other ship...
And I don't want to lose my ship.

well, you could just murder the battleship instead. just don't capture it. it doesn't seem to have a deck for you to go to afterwards.

My other ship is a tiny gaff schooner.
And the Battleship broadsides it like the second
I go to sea.

There is the Bellete and 2 frigates to contend with at the minimum. Sometimes more.

If you have a compass with radar, run it out to max and you will see all of your ships. You should order them all to sail away as soon as you board the Boussole. Only the one next to you should be in any real danger, and if she is fast and sturdy and has a decent Captain she will run the gauntlet successfully. I try to help it by shooting the frigates sails.

edit: Ahh. It is possible to run the gauntlet in that ship. I have seen it done successfully by Jackass Barks and once even a class 6 light fluyt. The main fear with a gaff schooner is losing a mast. If that happens your best bet is to sail out of the battle and go to the world map.

Save on the dock before boarding the Boussole and then you can experiment with different strategies. :cheers
