Being granted land by govenors

What is the point of this? Do you get something from it eventually such as additional wealth? Or is this part of you overal score once retiring? Is the ammount of acreage owned recorded somewhere in game?

It would be nice if you got some extra cash form that land.. or you could loose it if that town shifts nationality.

I think it adds to your final score.

Yeah it adds to a final score. You can't see or access your land, it just adds to the score, just like your share of the coins when you divide the plunder. Consult your scoring screen to view how much land you have amassed.

It sure would be neat if you could see the "acres of land" in the end
