AOP Brig

exactly. that's the problem. and that's why we can't. unless we do it in such a way that they'd look fitting on both a normal ship AND a haunted ghost ship from the bottom of the sea...

Hey! Lord Nelson! Long time, no see! How're you doing? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

The crew models are hardcoded and used by all ships. The only exception is a ship with ID 164, which is used for the skeletons at night on the Black Pearl. Unfortunately we can't even extend this feature to other ships, because there can only be one ship with that ID. The only options we have are crew vs no crew. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

nellieeeeeeee! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

there IS seaweedy crew though. but as pieter said, it can only be applied to a single ship.

And INSTEAD of the skeleton crew on the Pearl. And only at night. But yes, Cylon13 did make seaweedy crew for use on the Dutchman. We just can't use them. Same as the Royal Navy sailors Thomas the Terror once made for British ships.

That would be possible, yes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Eh ..originally i made it just for my cursed personal ship as little addon for my cursed skeletons ..but what the heck? it would fit for Dutchman too but its just this damn HARDCODEMENT OF THE CREW! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

That should probably be separate mods with big warnings on them.

Even if we could get them to work with stock "Lo_man" through some sort of coded dynamic switching of "low character" sets, I don't see anyone wanting all the sailors at one time, on every ship, being either seaweed, or British Royal Navy sailors, and that is what engine.exe would give us. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

<!--quoteo(post=221309:date=Nov 13 2007, 09:42 PM:name=Cylon13)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Cylon13 @ Nov 13 2007, 09:42 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Schooners deck walk file is ok expect that new sail plan and masts for stock schooner messed stock game schooners ..let's say climbing walk file ..i mean that the last and tallest mast on schooners backside, THERE'S the problem, sailors seem to be climbing in that rope ladder to invisible platform (or something) and then standing there on nothing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

So the walk file is outdated; the rigging has been changed.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Yep and i also noticed that schooners cannon reload animation walkfile seems to be out of place also ..crew on deck kinda floating on schooner too ..theres total of 3-4 walk file types what must be fixed on schooner. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

OK here's my picture proofs ..anyone who can fix it PLEASE fix it! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/Cylon13/screwed1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
First of all in this picture a sailor seems to be climbing in that ladder.

<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/Cylon13/screwed0.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Here that sailor climbs to invisible platform.

<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/Cylon13/screwed2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Here's the main part what i really don't like ..cannon reload animation is OUT OF PLACE! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

<!--quoteo(post=221525:date=Nov 14 2007, 10:46 PM:name=Petros)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Petros @ Nov 14 2007, 10:46 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->That should probably be separate mods with big warnings on them.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Very true. I just hate to lose the work people did on those sailors, but really we cannot use them in the modpack with the limitations of the game engine. So the only option would be to have them as additional downloads. But I can't imagine anyone wanting to have seaweedy/royal navy sailors on ALL ships in the scene either. So what to do with those reskins? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

BTW: Is there a screenshot of the AoP brig anywhere? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

<!--quoteo(post=221604:date=Nov 15 2007, 08:02 PM:name=Morgan Terror)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Morgan Terror @ Nov 15 2007, 08:02 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->strange. i've never seen that before. and i've used quite a few schooners already.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

And ALL Schooners have this walkfile problem. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

that's even stranger. maybe it's one of those flukes that my previous installment had. it had quite a few wierd ones, just like the one i have now. i doubt i didn't notice if it was there.

Anyways i WANT someone to fix this i don't care who BUT i want it to be fixed. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
That someone could at least tell ME how to fix it if he does not want to do it or his way too lazy to do it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Could you please use the filenames "checker.tga" and "desk.tga" instead of "chekker.tga" and "dekk.tga"? The files are already in the modpack, so it's better to use the ones already in there, rather than making copies of existing files. Also you might want to check the Alpha 8 WIP 1 file to see which AoP ships have already been added. The AoP brig had already been added, for example. Although yours does have a different skin, so we can still use it. I think Battleship3, Manowar3 and Tartane3 are from AoP. Also we have the Fast Galleon from AoP.

Pics and links are here now:

<a href="http://seanorris.googlepages.com/" target="_blank">http://seanorris.googlepages.com/</a>

Just go to the Potc page.

Nice! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

looks like the brig could use a retexture though. it has a bit of an undetermined colour. i like your plane skins. if you could do something like that for the brig, that would be great!

We already have two other retextures of that brig, actually. A British yellow-and-black one made by Thomas the Terror and what seems to be a modification of the original skin also done by Thomas the Terror.

Pieter - I used them textures because when I was looking at the battleship3 (AOP battleship) the masts look different, as you can see here:

<a href="http://www.isarapix.com/pix27/1195332518.png" target="_blank">http://www.isarapix.com/pix27/1195332518.png</a>

Also I am not using Build 14 but build 13 Final, I know that the Manowar3, Battleship3 and War Tartane are In this build but not the other ships. Are you adding the AOP ships to Build 13.5? Also some walk files need redoing as they're wrong (which I will probably do).

Morgan Terror - Skinning for IL-2 is much simpler than in PotC as you can start off with a blank texture with just the lines and the cockpit details and such. From this you can layer it up and paint it up and weather them etc. With PotC none of this exists (as far as I know) although I had a white(ish) texture for the Manowar at one stage it still wouldn't work out unless something similar to IL-2 was available for this game.
