any other way to make crew happy?

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> Just reduced crew from 77 to 57, cash is about 300K, and got crew from content to very happy. And I´ve been going back and forth without attacking every ship I see. (Though, if it says words "Treasure" or "Payroll", they are fair prey. No matter the nation <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> )

Time to head my Mail Runner to Bahamas area, and go Postal on those Brits. Vive la France. *Starts the infamous French Taunting* <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

Problem is, you can make much more money in practising than in writing about it. Just like with those "How to get rich on Wall Street" books.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> But it gives us something to do, when doing those long relocations after better prey. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Yep - attack a town and let your guys get beat up and then retreat at the last minute. I just found the retreat button the other day... DUH!

Manual... read the manual Toast!

So true. It's amazing how many questions I've answered on this board and added at the end, "...by the way, this was in the manual."

People are funny. They rant and complain when they don't get a hard copy manual and then when a game includes one, they don't even bother to read it. Personally I love reading manuals. It's the first thing I do after getting a game. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

I'd only be read'n when ye get stuck,which'd be most O' de time,so yeah I can say I read de manual <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Loot, loot, and more loot. That's the answer. As long as you're actively attacking ships, your crew will be happy. But I notice as you go up in levels, you simply CANNOT ignore a target, or your crew WILL get unhappy. So... Just imagine all shipping as targets of opportunity, and your crew (the survivors, LOL!) will be delighted! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
