Any chance of this on the next patch?

Would it be possible to be able to choose different eras even on Apprentice?

I know you designed the game that to be able to play any other era you need to choose Jorneyman or above but it would be nice if you also allowed it on Apprentice, is it possible, and if so do Fraxis or Sid ever read our posts? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Also it would be nice to make the traveling on land much clearer, very hard to find areas ie family, treasure etc? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

And my last request, can you make the dancing easier for unco people like me <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

I am only asking this as I have been playing the game now solid since I bought it and they seem to be the things that would make the game even better, having asked and said this the game is Superb, well done, first time in a long time I actaully feel like my money was well spent. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Thank you

P.S does anyone read these posts that can actually have some input into next patch?

Well, I think the opinions from fans of this game are still important, but iff someone from Fireaxis readed this I can not tell you.

But I think most of your improvements are not in one of the next patches, rather in an expansion, if there will come out one.

Patches, etc. are more for technical things and bugs..

Afaik The 1660 era is default. If you have made it through I think you can choose all the others.

In some cases I also have serious problems in finding family, treasure etc. Hope someone at firaxis / atari will fix this in future.

I don't have much problems finding treasures or relatives. If it were easier than it is, I would be too easy and almost automatic.

I agree, you should be able to play apprentice level at any era you want.

And yes, Firaxis folks do read these forums. I don't know how often, but Barry Caudhill posted on here about the time the game came out - he's the producer of the game. I've not seen Sid on here though.

Dude, how do you manage it then?

dude well good on you, but from what I have been reading quite a few agree, the map to ground is very tough, very hard to get a bearing on where you are. Having said this it is not impossible but mabye you could be able to zoom map in and out, that might help?

Finding treasure? I'll asume that you have all the peices of a map. While there are times when you can find them without all the pieces (I can sometimes find them with one) it easier if you have at least 3.

The best way to do it is to see where the most obvious visible from the `sea-landmark` is. Then use it to get your bearings as to where the treasure is.

Not sure I can give you much help. If you can read a map and a compass, you can usually figure out where it is. If it's due south of a geyser and east of a stone head, the try to line yourself up east/west or north/south of the corresponding landmark and set a course. Helps to use your telescope as well - though using it takes some getting used to.
