Ammo mod: concerning officers supplies

Cpt Fabris

Landlubber
Can anyone tell me whether I must supply my officers with gunpowder and pistol shot/grapeshot if they have guns? According the readme it says officers who come with guns have ammo, but does this run out or change if I give them a better/different pistol? (eg, if officer came with a short pistol and so his own supply of pistol shot and I give him a grapeshot pistol does he then suddenly acquire grapeshot or find that his pistol has no ammo?) My officers seem to have continual misfires, making me suspect something is awry with me officers.
Of course according to the examples of surviving pirate articles any man failing to keep his blade or pistol in good working order should be subject to disciplin as agreed by other members of the company. Not sure I want rid of them...yet.

Yes, you must supply your officers with gunpowder and pistol shot or grapeshot.

They, like you, have a limit of 6 of each. After 6 shots they can't fire their pistols.

They, like you, can carry more shot and powder if you give them ammo pouches and powder flasks.

Thanks for that. I experimented last night having stocked up with a lot more ammo and powder with the powder keg and ammunition bag (already had a flask and pouch). Think I'm better off being stingy with the ammo for my lads...lest they get themselves killed and lose the stuff.

BTW, if muskets appear in game now (as seen in Pieter's features list for Post-Build 12), is there a reason the town guards don't seem to have or use them? Not that they don't kill you just fine without them...

Another thing about officers, they tend to shoot innocent bystanders or even you if your standing in front, and then their reputation drops, and all manner of riots break out.

In part, it might be so as not to make them too strong.
I also think it is because we have not been able to get characters to properly carry any long guns.
They would just look real silly standing at the gates wearing muskets on their belts.

Or worse, in their britches...though I imagine it would increase the inuendo level and add some nice possibilities for some salacious dialog...
