how do you upload files to this mod in work? I have a few small mods like ships and textures but I will love to contribute!
 
Well there's the ftp, but last time I checked it was down, so you can either wait for it to come back or use some free filehosting service like mediafire.
As for the Black Pearl, the model looks alright to me. Obviously nothing like the movie one, but it could make a nice generic ship. Are there any generic textures for it? If not, I might make some.
Also, may I suggest making this pack modular? I don't like large monolithic mod packs because there's always some feature that I don't want and usually it can't be easily disabled.

Well i havent uploaded anything for the CMP yet, it's all still a work in progress on my PC.. When the FTP is back up upload them in a folder called "For CoaS CMP" and we'll know where to find your work.. I'm going to attempt to, but believe me when i say i have never written C before, nor have i ever modded a game before. I'm a PHP Web Developer...

I did however try to apply some of my PHP knowledge into C and managed to take the first step..

I know it's stupidly simple, basic and nothing to wow at, but it's my first step, it works and i'm happy with it. I'm going to try and do the same for reimplementing the 3 missing classes. (Master, Secret Agent, Inquisitor).
 
With your background, you know more of coding than when I started, so you'll do just fine.

Don't quite see the point in disabling the three new classes though.

If you add toggles on EVERYTHING, it's going to get more confusing the more mods you add.
Might be managable now, but not when it really takes off.

No mate, not disable them... By default the 3 classes are Merchant, Corsair and Adventurer, but in the code there is also Secret Agent, Inquisitor and Master which have been disabled by default, the idea is to add a toggle to Enable them so they appear on the Character Selection screen when you make a new game, so instead of just the default 3 classes, you can choose from 6 classes.
 
I mean, if you add a toggle, you can disable the presence of these three new classes.
Or enable them, if the toggle is off by default. Either way, I don't really see why that would be needed.
If a player doesn't want to select it, he can choose not to, and once the game's started, you wouldn't notice anymore.
But that's just me speaking based on the <i>waaay</i>-too-many toggles we've got in the Build mod. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
