A ship upgrade being completely unavailable?

So, I was playing a game (1660, swashbuckler) and got my favorite ship (frigate). Good news? I had all the upgrades except bronze cannons. Bad news? I went to <b><u>every single port</u></b> I could find on the map, including pirate ports and such, and not a single port has bronze cannons for upgrade.

Has anyone had this happen? I'm aware that what they sell as an upgrade is randomly applied when the game is started, but holy cow! The only way I've managed to get any ships with bronze cannons is to capture ones that have it already!

Ye same problem hire but I find only in Rio de hacha bronze cannon (1640 rouge) capture a another frigate with bronze cannon <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I couldn't find any bronze cannon either (1620 Rogue, Large Frigate) - not for a long time - until I sacked Havana, and there they were... I think perhaps at the upper levels your fiercest enemy is the one who has the best upgrades - and you can't get them unless you take the town as your own.
