2 players?

Can two people play this game (not at the same time mind you). My friend had a pirate saved and then I started a new game and named a new pirate but now we can't find her saved game. When I try to Load a game the only thing that is shown is my game. I was just wondering if it is possible for two people to have different pirates or if you're only allowed one.

It is possible to have as many as 15 saved games at once. (actually an unlimited number but I do not want to get into that) When you save a game, make sure you do not save in a slot that already has a save game in it, unless of course its the same game.
(NOTE: The manual states there are only 5 save slots, (pg 4), this is incorrect. There are 15)

Example:

I am playing the loose pirate, Fred_Bob, I tire of his antics and save the game, I will use Empty Slot 1.

My friend starts a game playing the flaming pirate, Skull. He/she tires of the game and saves the game in any slot, except the one I already used. This game may be saved in Empty Slot 2 -15.

If either one of us saves a different pirate over a previsouly saved game, then the old pirate is lost. (maybe).

There, easy as pie. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

This may sound silly but how do you choose which slot you want to save in? The only time I've seen the slots is when I ask to load a game. When I hit shift + s to save it just automatically saves without asking which slot I want to save in.

Toodles,
You can't save in town, it seems, so go to sea, check your fleet status and you'll see the icon for the disk at the bottom. Click there, then you'll see the list of save slots. You can choose from there. My buddy and I swapped my computer chair back and forth over a few days (He purchased the gae but it wouldn't run on his system until he updated his video card) and I used the top slots for my games, he used the bottom ones. It was easier to keep them straight that way.
Hope this helps.

Yes, my friend and I have been playing in this `chair-swapping` mode for quite some time now, and do exactly what Bully suggests. Don't "`shift-s`" to save, go into the fleet status when at sea...

The game also autosaves to "battle", "arrival", and "quit", so you need to remember to save in a real slot as opposed to just relying upon that.
