[EDIT] Just finished watching the videos. I gotta say that there is no disappointment. There is just so much action. For example, look at the Gamefootage 6 at GameSpot. Amazing stuff.

Whooweee.. The land battles are amazing. But it is going to be very nice to know how they work and information on formations, group totals (what limits there are per group on land) weapons that can be used.

The new duel video blew me away though. The ability to throw things like mild explosives. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" /> It's got me all giddy.

There you see the two videos. The second one is awesome in some parts. There is a bit of new footage there. But the first one is 6 mins and 26 seconds. Good stuff. In that movie he said `6-8` hours gameplay time! NOoooooOOoOooOOO. If anyone here becomes a beta tester push for an option not to age! And slower.....game pace/speed.

I think pretty much everyone agrees about the time frame of game play.
Aging needs to be slower. Why do we play games like this? A quick thrill?
I think not. We enjoy watching character growth inside the aspect of sailing on the high seas (and blowing some ships out of the water)

But what I was hinting on in the interview was that they were pushing for finishing up the game play changes because they want the beta to be ready soon!!!!
 
Im sure you will only age 1 day per second while at sea. i would aso be willing to bet that passage of time will be scaled to how long it actually took someone to sail to different locations in the caribbean. changing this too much could compromise the temporal integrity of the game.

besides who cares if your pirate gets old has to retire you simply start a new career and plunder the caribbean all over again. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p:" border="0" alt="pirate2.gif" />

I have downloaded the files but they quality is so poor that you hardly see anything...

Sariels link is in much much higher quality.. I am impressed by it btw....
