Fixed Boarding: No Captain on Deck

ANSEL

Corsair
Storm Modder
Hearts of Oak Donator
I just boarded a Portuguese ship, no captain on board. So I was stuck on that ship.
if(!CreateEntity(&character, character.model.entity)) return false; ?

ANSEL you were stuck in the cabin with no captain present?

That sounds a lot like the error I got the last time the twin captain function was removed, and Levis had me test it (a couple of weeks ago).

Here is the error report from back then, and link Needs Testing - Character Skill Importances Missing | Page 2 | PiratesAhoy!

"Results of test: I boarded a merchant ship, fought my way through. After the fights, I found myself in the Captain's cabin. There was noone there but me, and I couldn't seem to leave. Here is my error log file contents when I exited:

RUNTIME ERROR - file: locations\locations_loader.c; line: 673
missed attribute: location
RUNTIME ERROR - file: locations\locations_loader.c; line: 673
no rAP data
RUNTIME ERROR - file: characters\characters.c; line: 133
Cant create class: NPCharacter"

EDIT

Yep. The last error I got there, the line 133 one, was the exact same as ANSEL is getting. I guess because the twin is no longer created?

@ANSEL was this ship a encounter ship (worldmap or direct sail) or was it on the coast of an island or was it a questship?
Or something else.
I've tested with encounters and there it works ..

I was an escorted group of Merchant, I boarded one of the Merchant.
It surrendered, but there was no captain on deck, I could not leave the
ship and have to close the game.
I will try to find another group later to day, see if it happens again( I think
it will)
I have boarded a lot of Navy ships, and they work well enough.

The word off to of ?
Sorry, I just thought you might have meant to write "off Martinique", e.g. "off the shore of Martinique".
Otherwise I don't quite follow your description.... :ninja

One of the encounter types at sea, starting from worldmap and investigating another ship icon, is "escorted group of merchants". I imagine @ANSEL is reporting having engaged such a group. Not surprisingly, he avoided the escorts and went after one of the merchants - they're lower morale so they're more likely to surrender, and easier boarding opponents if they don't, plus they're the ones with the valuable cargo. Though he reports also having attacked navy ships, apparently without the same problem.

@ANSEL: when you attacked those naval ships, did they also surrender and did you then meet the captain?
If so, did the captain surrender or fight? And was that on the first deck where boarding starts, or did you have to fight your way through a deck or two before the surrender?
Or did you have to fight your way through all the decks to the cabin?

I found an other group of escorted ship and yes the same error: No captain on deck.

One time more: No captain on deck. Its constant, I will say. A confirmed bug!

@Pieter Boelen I wish someone will look in to this soon. Its all the escorted group of merchants,
there have this error. Dont know about the ordinary Merchants, will look into it to night.
The error spoil the role of a privateer, and this what I use to be.

It can only be related to @Levis' recent code changes.
Probably he'll fix it as soon as he can.

There is nothing I can do. I'm months behind on installing new stuff in my own game.
And the day I had scheduled to rectify that is now otherwise occupied.

I tried to board a single Merchant without escort, same error: No captain.
