Fixed False Flag Detection on Ship Deck

I think it was fixed in an earlier version of Build 14 that Tortuga would be Pirate and always accept Pirate Flags in Jack Sparrow.
There does not appear to be a problem with Tortuga - I have just tried twice sailing there directly after meeting Davy Jones - sailed in and moored with no problems both times on sunny days with very good visability.

Just played this bit again - Arrived in Tortuga safely - decided to go and loot the chests on my ship - while doing this on the gun deck I got the on -screen log message " We are recognised, captain"

Went to the port and saved on the jetty.

Just being spotted should not make much of a difference. Sinking or capturing the guard vessel probably will though.
Especially if you do it while still under a friendly flag!!!

Robbing wandering random Street merchants should cause the same issue as with the other ones.
Not sure if it does though.

Bit odd that this would happen ON THE GUN DECK. Should really only occur in 3D sailing mode.

chance=5.3417e-002, which is a REALLY small number. However, frnd=3.5127e-002 is even smaller, so it IS correct that you'd be recognized.
Basically the chance is really low, but not exactly 0 so this looks like just being really unlucky. That can happen. :shrug

Of course next time you play through this part, the Pirates should have turned friendly to you because of my recent storyline relations changes.
Then your Pirate flag won't be a false flag and you should be able to go in and out as you please.

It will be interesting to see what happens when I sail out of port with Barbossa - Pintel & Ragetti. :woot

La Tortue is actually French, it just happens to be friendly to Pirates as well. If you're friendly to France then try raising a French flag instead when you enter or leave La Tortue.

@Talisman is playing the Jack Sparrow storyline, which is the only one where Tortuga actually IS a Pirate town. :yes
 
Would it be possible to make you temporarily friendly to Pirates while Barbossa is with you?

I was just surprised that the Fort recognised me while I was wandering around my ship.

For some reason I thought that the Fort would only see me while I was in 3D sailing and thought that walking around the ship decks was the same as walking on Land.

If the Fort can see me while I walk on my ship, I am going to have to be more careful in future :yes, since I usually spend quite a bit of time looting the ships chests when in Port, especially if I need money.

The Fort being able to see me while walking my ship means that the amount of time it has to identify me is much longer than I expected, since it is not just the time spent sailing into or out of Port, but includes the time I spend wandering around my ship.:eek:

Would it be possible to make you temporarily friendly to Pirates while Barbossa is with you?
I already made changes to Jack Sparrow so that the Pirates are PERMANENTLY friendly to you at that point.
So that shouldn't be a problem.

But for quest cases where that isn't the case, it is possible to temporarily override the "false flag detection chance" to be completely 0%.

I am equally surprised and I will definitely do what needs to be done to stop that. That part is not intentional. :no
 
Apparently this happens and it shouldn't!
I'll look into it very soon.
 
Apparently the AI Updates were being done also during each location reload while on a ship's deck.
I have now put an end to that, so this should no longer happen.
