  • This walkthrough was created using Build 14 Beta 4 it may differ from other versions of the game.

Go to the tavern and talk to the tavern keeper – ask about business –then ask about anyone afraid to travel alone.

A merchant will either walk in or you will be told there is no one at the moment.

Talk to the merchant and decide to accept the task or not (check your map if necessary – the destination will be marked on the map)

Tell the merchant if you are going to use a false flag (due to the destination town belonging to a hostile nation.)

A merchant will NOT change flags when you do, so if you hoist a flag hostile to him, he'll mutiny and attack/flee. - To prevent that, you can tell him about your intentions when you hire him or you can do that later by visiting him in his captain's cabin.

Sail to the destination - If you are attacked by a hostile quest ship at the destination, then the merchant will give you a bonus for successfully protecting him. This bonus increases for each consecutive time that you do that, but is reset to the default if you fail and Escort Quest.and on arrival on the jetty the merchant will pay the agreed amount.

You can of course attack the merchant at sea and steal his cargo – beware this will damage your reputation.
