I be wondering, I need a piratey game but should I get this or wait for Sid Meier's Pirates to come out?

That's an easy one; both.

As far as POTC, a lot of us here have been playing it for a little more than a year, because the modders keep adding things to the original game that make it better and better.

I think that just about all of us are interested in seeing Sid Meier's Pirates when it comes out, some of us are old enough to have played the original, but that's, maybe, 4 months away. I bet you can find a fairly cheap copy of POTC, nowadays, to fill up the time you'll be waiting, and you may just get hooked on it! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

PotC "plain" is a buggy game but if you get the mods we have here, it's a wonderfully piratey experience with loads of challenges and fun stuff to do. Best thing, you can play past the end of the main quest - which used to be the end of the game - and there is so much more variety with Build 11.0 (which also patches the bugs in the game).

Pirates! (Sid Meyer) will be awesome when it comes out as I saw a demo of it at E3 - and it looks like it will be a lot of fun too! But as Sir Christopher says, it's probably about four months away from release, and PotC is pretty cheap these days...

Yes as they saaid start with PotC then when SM Pirates! gets released you buy that!! I got mine in quality with instructions and all for very cheap price for the game!!

Tis sounding like I'll be getting.......... both! I'll get this to keep me piratey self happy till SM: Pirates is released. I have also tracked down and olde copy of Pirates!: Gold....
