I'll be interested to hear the results! Can't hurt, that's for sure....Just want to say I just set the wind thingy to 0.5 in a new game and will see if it helps make sailing easier.

I'll as well since I forgot to do it hihi (battles in sea took my mind)I'll be interested to hear the results! Can't hurt, that's for sure....
Very cool! I'll make that change in the next update then as well.I put in many hours of play last night going from level 5 to level11 and this is most certainly an improvement! I have previously given up on the square sail ships because of the evil winds that completely destroy any immersion, but started this game with the Medium Pinnace, a big fat cargo ship.
So far tacking works and is not just "busy work" to keep the player occupied until the winds change. The winds are much more predictable and consistent now. They aren't completely defanged as they do try to push me into the rocks when close to an island but I can deal with that. Overall, Direct Sail is much better.
Go right ahead and post it. I can still do one last zipping action tonight. Is it too late to include that change?
