I hear what you are saying with regards to the half finished appearance of the game, along with the bugs I've read about, I didn't have any, and the poor planning of the main story line; you could stop yourself from finishing quests by finishing others, or you could find yourself painted into a corner with no way out thru no fault of your own and have to restart your game, i.e. Greenford fort,
but,
I still admire the graphics, and I like to think that the initial game inspired the modders to improve a game that got messed up due to a `tie-in` with a movie release.
It is just about a year ago that the original game was released and thanks to the Build(s) I still enjoy playing it and I am slowly working my way thru the newer additions in order to savor them one at a time. I figure the modders put a lot of time and effort into creating them, I am going to devote an equal amount of time to enjoying them.
The improvement I most enjoy is the falling masts that the modders put back into the game. I usually board ships because I like the swordfighting and then selling the captured ships, but more and more lately, I will devote my time to the sea battles, trying to manuver my ship with an eye to wind position, and take advantage of the different ammunition types, to outsail and ultimately disable an enemy ship. I enjoy very much knocking down the masts on opposing ships and I even enjoy when I lose a mast myself. I had a battle recently where all my masts were down, but I figured what the heck, I'll go down fighting. To my enjoyment I was still able to sink the ships that had `diss-masted` me and win the fight.
In short, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
