what's the deal with women??!

I just loaded b13 and update. You pick which charactor you wish to be from a list. All the dames got 4 stats at 2, while the guys only have 2!? whats that about?? Do the guys have something I missed, or are the female choices better at start??
also, i read somewhere (God knows where, I've been reading these post and other sites for days now) that you could set game stuff to the level you desire (like diffaculty,) but I see no options other than the usual audio/video.

The ladies are a bit better than the men, yes. Positive discrimination, it is. Personally I like it because I respect ladies a lot. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

If you start a new game, there is a setting for the difficulty at the right hand side of the screen. It says "Beginner" by default, I think, but you can raise it with the arrows next to it. You can also change the difficulty DURING the game through the Options menu.
 
hey if you ever figure out what the deal with women is...let us all know will ...

I sure as hell cant figure them out....they are like beings with an anti logic force field around them .

first we state that girls require time and money.(* means multiply here)
girls = time * money

as we all know, time is money.
time = money

therefore:
girls = money * money = money in kwadrant (i'm lacking the keyboard symbols)

and because "money is the root of all evil":
money = square root of evil

therefore:
girls = (square root of evil) in quadrant

and we are forced to conclude that:
girls = evil

As long as the skills are in the right place ...meh..its all good...I gave up after 10 years ...now I'm at 28....I mostly just stare in wonderment ...I try never to get in a discussion that requires logic...and I am able to survive that way.

Yaeh, ole Longjohn done put me a parrot and a bumblebee in a fine mesh ka-nary cage and had me first mate set watches over em for a entire week. Guess what they did, NUTHIN! So that jus proves it. They aint no such a thang and dem womenfolk with all their shirt-swishin just been leading us along all these years!!!

It should also be noted that women in the game are often put in the most physicaly demanding roles: Tough/Gunner etc <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I usualy end up visiting the tailor's shop to 'fix' women for me in my game. So out of 8 starting officers i usualy have 2 females.

1 is my first mate(terrible pun).....and named after my missus, and goes adventuring with me on land. The second either becomes my navigator or my quartermaster.

As for the mysteries of women - i never found them that difficult to understand, they are people too <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Still i would say if you ever get 'smitten' by one and she starts to mess with yer head and emotions - then she's probably not worth it. Girls like that are often just trouble, and often will remain that way.

Infact guys that mess ye around are trouble also(so not to discriminate). In short anyone that messes you around, causes you undo stress or behaves just unreasonalby are best avoided imho. Life is short, too short for being messed around with for sure - ye has a whole ocean to explore mi harties <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

they're in build 14 alpha. they are used to fill up the empty space between the islands. i've never been there yet though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> what i be wonderin': what be the difference between that an' the rest o' the sea?
 
ah....i haven't downloaded Buil 14 Alpha yet, since i've heard it has quite a few bugs...
is it really bad enough to disrupt anything in the game? are there work arounds? if so, i'll download it on Wednesday, and try it out...
 
well, some great work has been done on it, and it is now very much playable. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> you'll have to change your internal settings and your build settings again though. important: change the number in the last line of the internal settings (when you downloaded the latest fixes from pieter's site) to 0. you might not know this, but you can now sail to another island in 3D! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
