Whats the best way to gain experience?

Hello all

My character is currently on level 10, and by doign delivery missions i am not seeign a lot of advancement, i want at least 4 lmore levels so i can get master boarding and master fencer. Im playing the unmoded version.

Also if i teach all of my oficers the ability that gives 20% of the exp to the rest of the party would i be getting 60% more exp per character?

Depends how much cargo you deliver, bigger cargo, bigger xp. Also by fighting larger ships is a good way to get xp. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

Storms are a good way to gain XP but you'll have to repair your ship after.
 
By sinking big ships using small one like if you manage to sink a battleship using lugger you will get 110000 exp. point . Ofcourse this need alot of time and good stratigies but it worth it . If you want to go with cargo delievery then allways save before you talk to the store owner then talk to him . If he didn't offer you a good mission then reload and try again .

Other easy way is CHEATING <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> , so if you intresting I can give you some of them but this will require you to start a new game if you are playing with no mods . You can start the game with any nember of free skills and ability , a new name , better ships specification , manowar encounters and many .... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />:
 
The biggest ways I gain experience are:

1) As others are saying, sink a big ship (`man-o`-war being the biggest) using a small ship. There's an exploit to make this a lot easier than it seems. If YOU own the `man-o`-war, attack the smallest ship you can find, and board them. Of course you'll win without any effort. Then swap ships and sink the `man-o`-war. This can be rather expensive, but you'll gain heaps of experience.

2) This second way will gain you unbelievable amounts if experience enabling you and your officers to jump heaps of levels in one go. Have as many large ships (the larger the cargo hold the better, so once again `man-o`-war is the best choice) as you can. Basically 4 ships is the most you'll get. Go to a merchant and save the game. Then ask the merchant if he has any missions for you. If he offers you some lame amount (a few thousand or so) then reload the game and ask him again. Keep doing this until he offers you hundreds of thousands to do a shipping run. You'll find that what he wants you to ship is ammunition (knipples make the most profit). You can make up to 1 Million or so shipping this stuff when it's associated with a mission. Also once you make the delivery, you will get HUMONGOUS experience. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Of course if you can afford to be running around with 4 `man-o`-wars, you probably aren't too worried about experience, but any relatively large ship can be useful with the above techniques.
 
What's the rush, Reinhard? If you're playing the unmodded version of the game, it will be over far sooner than you think and you can't play on after you have defeated the game. For some reason when you finish the final quest it rewards you with a lot of experience that you cannot use or apply. Slow down, don't worry about gaining advancement, just enjoy the game.

The first time I won the game, an unmodded game, I don't think I was more than level 10, and I had no problem getting thru it. What you want to do is get Build 11, it has different levels you can play at and if you play at Adventurer or Swashbuckler level, you will soon have more experience than you will know what to do with. Also you can keep on playing the game after finishing the final quest.

Thank you very very much , really i got master fencer and within another hour or so i can get master boarding, i wanted both because the skeletons from the treasure quest made me think i was not going to make it to the end, i have now 3 battleships, just one side quest left and il continue the main story, il try the build you told me, seems awesome!!!.
 
Best way to gain Experiance

Aye, the original game is good to play through to the end but if you install the build 11 like Sir Christopher Mings suggests ther will be no end to your pirate career.
Anyway,
The best, or I should say my most favorite way to gain experiance in the build is to visit all my mistrises.
The build is so awesome because you can gain experiance by doing almost anything.
