The biggest factor in how often the governor will introduce marriageable relations--and which model(s) they will be--is your current rank _with that nation_.
So if you're a dashing Earl, you do better than as an unknown Captain (or even Vice Admiral!).
 
so what is the pros and cons of being married? and are there differencies(sp?) between the young prospects?
 
I don't know anything about being married (atleast in POTC). But there is an option that has to do with marrige in the "characters_init.c" file... I don't know if there's a way to start the game married. It may be the only way some of us can get a wife. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
 
Actually, that's I'm afraid the one to guarantee you _won't_. As that's checked before a new possible MR is created.
Well, you can set that to 1 and claim to yourself that you have a wife in Europe...

Is there anything that can be done to change the way marrige works? (I mean in POTC) I am sure there's some file to edit somewhere...

I DO want Arabella, although she's actually pretty ordinary looking (I found her long lost twin in the brothel the other night!), compared to Estrella, but, unfortunately, she already has a lover, and I wouldn't even try to kidnap her, or that Voodoo Queen would be after me...

Seems to me that one game I played a while ago, I got Arabella as my wife... Ya just have to keep stringing along the nieces...

You may get the towngirl1 model (which Arabella uses), but it's highly unlikely her first name will be Arabella. Odds are roughly 1 in 360 if you are rank 6, and less if of greater rank (since then other models will have been added to the array of choices).
 
Ok, 'Baron Brownlow' is narried now, however his wife just says 'If you nust go, You Must' and then what he says is 'I'll be on my way then', whats going on? Either no one talks in POTC much or........I don't know. Whats going on?

I love what Alan Smithee is doing with his proposed mod to have a "bedroom" at the governor's mansion... It's another place for some interesting opportunities at a quest - your wife can tell you in confidence that she heard that `so-and`-so was doing some trading in contraband, or hijacking the trader's stores, or there's a secret entrance to the treasury, LOL! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
