Uncommon sails?

As mentioned I only have the build pack 12.1.

When I looked around in all the new menu's I noticed that I can have sails in three colours and choose between whole or torn sails. But there are also buttons for sails with logos and such.

I just don't know how to acquire such sails. Must I buy them somewhere? I had hoped conquering a pirate ship with patterned sails would give me the option to use that pattern, but no. What must I do?
 
You should just be able to select them in the Sails interface. I don't recall exactly how to do it in Build 12.1, but it's just a matter of clicking the right buttons in the interface. I think there is a "National Emblem" button there somewhere as well as a "Pirate Logo" button or something like that.
 
you should select plain white sails first, then you can choose your logo. you can also select red or black of course.
 
I think I've figured why I can't chose any logos. The menu allows you to add a national logo or a pirate logo. But I haven't joined any nation or become a pirate so of course I can't have any logo.

I guess it makes me a miserable "pirate", but I prefer total freedom to sail anywhere and deal with everybody. Ok, I don't know if the pirates will leave me alone (we are serious enemies because of my hobby: join an already ongoing battle with pirates and sink them), but at least they don't have a fort protecting their harbour.

It doesn't matter what nation you do or don't serve. You should be able to select any sails you want. I can't show you a screenshot because I don't have Build 12.1 installed, but perhaps Morgan Terror can. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />
 
i think he's right, actually. you HAVE to join a nation in order to get a logo. although i'm not sure. i could select any pirate logo i wanted, at least. the main thing you should keep an eye on is to <u>select plain white sails first.</u> otherwise you can't select any logo at all.
 
For the national logo you might need to join a nation, but not for the pirate logos. Pretty certain of that.
 
me too. i could choose the pirate logos any time. however, i AM neutral with the pirates. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Doesn't matter. I could always choose any pirate emblem no matter what.
