To those with 19" TFT / LCD screens

Since Pirates doesn't support 1280x1024 res, and it doesn't look good in other resolutions, I suggest you set res to 1280x960, and add this to your config.ini:


FullScreen = 0

Now you can play it in windowed mode.

I use a 17" TFT/LCD and it looks pretty good when running 128x960....is this only a 19" issue?

The problem with LCD screens is that they have a native resolution, for instance my 19" have 1280 x 1024 as native res, meaning the actual monitor have that many pixels.

If you set another res it has to "emulate" that res resulting in a blurry image. But I noticed that 1280x960 wasn't that bad in this game as in other games, but I still thought people would like to know how to play in windowed mode.

Your config.ini has

WindowWidth = 1280
WindowHeight = 960

just change em to

WindowWidth = 1280
WindowHeight = 1024

And you have your native res right there!

Just found this thread while looking for a way to play in windowed mode.

I've tried setting the resolution to a widescreen one (latitude d800 laptop), but it just cuts off the top and bottom. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Any ideas?

Do you think they will add the possibility to play in 1280/1024 in a future patch?

(putting manually the values in config.ini works not very well, does some display bugs...)

1280/1024 is the most common resolution used in ours days (`17-18`-19 inches displays).

theres a lot of games out there that don,t support this res,i have just brought battle for middle earth and this also does not support 1280/1024,i wonder if when they started developing these games there were not alot of lcds about.

just wanted to add:
1280 x 800 cuts off the top and bottom, too.

www.widescreengamingforum.com takes care of our issues, but they don´t have a solution yet.
