The new Pirates! a disappointment?

Hmm, over the last weeks I haven't played Pirates! at all. And I must say I won't play it that soon for sure.

Right now I have a feeling that the Game was a big disappointment. Why? No I didn't put too high expectations in it and then to be disappointed.
The Game is great for sure, but it could have been much better if they would just do a bit of bugfixing.
The Game wasn't the megaseller like they thought it would be (all want to play the always shorter and more stupid getting 3D Shooters). And so they simply stopped supporting it (sadly a normal thing to do nowadays).
The Patch that came brought in new bugs for the one it fixed. And there are also People playing Pirates! who don't live in the US (thanks for making only an US Patch).

A bit more finetuning, a bit more Skins (boring always to fight Baron Raymondo) and this Game would have been great (really great).
A good Game that's left to rot just because it's not that megaseller (as I said, that's buissines today). So the Game is a big disappointment to me (even though it's not the primarly Games fault).

Well my hopes rests with "Age of Pirates" now.
 
Aye,I've not played it much latley,It is an entertaining game,so do go back an play from time te time,but it lacks modabilty like POTC,Firaxis is supposed e be werking on a new patch,so maybe thar will be something new besides some bug fixes,which O' course would be welcome as well <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
We have to remember that Firaxis was teamed up with Atari until recently and they seemed to have had a troublesome partnership for a while already.

Then came the negotiations with Take2 and all work on Pirates! was put on hold. However, when the new partnership was announced, Barry said that they might also get back on the patch train, specifically mentioning both US and European patches.

Firaxis' style has previously been to support their games at least adequately. They never got rid of all the bugs in Civilization3, but at least they tried. I still trust that we'll see a patch for Pirates! as well.

i think we need to be fair about this. now, i may be wrong but i believe the game wasn't even released anywhere BUT the US when the patch came out and the version subsequently released in Europe already included the patch. (if i'm way off on this blame swallowing too much salt water)
