Ahoy! im new to this forum and just have a few questions. I might sound stupid but, what exactly is this game that everyones talking about? is it for pc? is it online? what genre is it? can someone give me just some general info on the game? The game you're asking about is called "Pirates of the Caribbean" and it is a pseudo sequel to a classic game called "Seadogs". Disney bought it out and released it as PotC to coincide with the release of their movie last year.

As far as I'm aware it exists for only 2 platforms: PC and XboX. They are both roughly the same except with the PC version comes the ability to modify the code and that's exactly what is going on at this site; people here are making rather extensive mods to the game to successfully prolong the enjoyment.

thanks a lot. one more thing..is there an "ending" to the game? if so, after it ends, is it possible to keep playing from where you finished or do you have to start from the beginning again?

We feature other pirate games here at PiratesAhoy but the big one is PotC, I think mainly because the game as released is pretty lame, but has gotten SO MUCH BETTER with the modifying that has gone on here and at other pirate gaming sites around the web.

If you have or are planning to get PotC, and wish to download some of the mods, the best place to start is Build 11.0.

Here is our downloads section link - and you will notice we have other game mods and patches there too... But Build 11.0 will be in the Pirates of the Caribbean game section.

Depends on where you're at, Schooner... Where do you live? In the USA, you will probably be able to find it at Best Buy for $20 or less.

You can also try buying it online at eBay - <a href="http://www.ebay.com/" target="_blank">HERE</a>

And as far as I know, you cannot change your username unless you `re-register` as a different user. Maybe Keith or William can do something about it for you, tho.
 
By the way, Schooner, don't feel bad about asking questions (I noticed your little ":oops:" on your last post. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />). The people here love discussing the game and all other things pirate, that's why we're here!
