The Claire LaRousse Quest

Well, I thinks to meself....suppose I post this here an hopes for the best. I started this Quest and can't finish it. The Only clue I got was from my Questbook. it tells me to return to the ships and sail one to the bay, then the rest will load the gold. ??? what the hell is that? "the bay" what damn bay???, and how am i supposed to run back a bring one ship while everyone "who follows me by the way" stays behind and prepares to load the gold.

If you can help, I'd appreciate a hint or tip or both, maybe the full quest even....not that Proud......Anymore!

This seems to always be a hard part. You should walk to the right bay (can't remember which one), but once you are there, Claire will come up to talk to you and enable you to finish the quest. So just save you game and walk around the island searching for the right bay until she wants to talk to you. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I can't figure this out and after trying many different solutions and searching the forum for spoilers, it seems to me no one else has either.

So I get the quest and sail to Oxbay. I get a cutscene and kill some English soldiers. No clue what to do next.
I set sail. I board two ships (should I sink them outright? Can I let the captains go and not sink them?) and ...

What??? What am I supposed to do to get rid of Claire Larrouse ??? I have read the forums, Pieter says something about going to a Bay, but I haven't received that dialogue option in my quest log.

It's been ages ago since I played that, but I recall you had to attack a gold transport in the jungles of Oxbay, then go to what looks to be Oxbay_shore_02 (aka Gray Rock Bay). I checked out the code for this quest, but don't really understand it. By the looks of it Claire should start a dialog after killing those soldiers. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

it should. however, first i thought i should have sailed to greenford and intercepted two ships that where supposed to be the convoy. that was a bit confusing. apparantly, i was supposed to intercept a convoy by land. the dialogue should indeed start after you've killed all soldiers before they reach the gates.

That was what I needed, Thanks. I had set sail and there were two English ships in the bay near the Lighthouse, so I attacked them. They were loaded - one has over 100,000 gold and over 300 ct in cargo gold. I also got some very nice weapons from their captains. So I didn't want to just reload and loose all that.

So I went back to the lighthouse and to the jungles and sure enough the Claire mission started back again.

There are a lot of "crash to desktop" bugs involved in this quest. Also, Claire asks if you want to stay partners and continue looting... I chose "no." It's not that I don't like the missions, but the bugs involved make it not worth the hassle.

i would have excepted it if i where you. she's got a good ship! besides, i haven't seen any bugs in that quest, and continueing to work together doesn't mean another quest, just another officer, with a ship as a bonus.
