If I want to modify a ship what else do I have to do besides changing the
things in "ships.init" . Because I did only this ones and the ship never went for sale. What gives?

Changing ships appearance?

I'd like to know how its done as well. I now have a 'man o war' <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="pirate2.gif" />

but I'd like to change it's textures to look more like a British 1st rate, with the black and yellow banding on the gun ports.

Ok, sorry ut I have figured everything out now. Sorry fro the trouble.
I have tryed to change the ship things in ships.init. (ex: speed,turn rate ,max calibur). But Now I know how.

OK first go to the "ships.init" and there you can find all the ships. Find the one you want to change and go and chang it. Now in your case kennosen you have to go dow almost to the end and change your manowar stats. There are 2 different `Man-O`-War's ate every country. So you have to modify both. Or you can just buy a `Man-O`-War lets say at Redmond and then go to the ships.init and find the English `Man-O`-War's and change the settings. (change them both because you don't know wich you have). When you are back in the game just press ''I" to reinitialise and then "T" and you may sail in your upgraded ship <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

You don't have to change both ships in file . If you have the brown one then you will find it details under MANOWAR1 , if you have the other beig and green line in the top deck then it is MANOWAR2 , the black MANOWAR is called GUBER ( last manowar in the manowar section ) so all you have to do is change whatever you need like let say you bought the beig MOW from Holland shipyard then open the file and find the :
MANOWAR2_HOLLAND and do the changes .

Remember even the ship can only bought from the dutch shipyard but you may encounter it with any other nation fleet ( English , French ..etc ) so if you are hotile with a nation you may fight the same ship , ouch . Yes, but....

... I want to change the 'textures' of the ship, the way it looks 'ingame' how can I do it? is there an 'editing tool' available or something?

I want to change all the British ships to have the famous 'black and gold' banding.
