I board an enemy ship along with four of my officers, all at Hero reputation. We proceed to wipe out the enemies on the outside deck and the first inside deck. And now two of my officers have dropped to Dashing. Why? (This is Build 13, if that makes any difference to this question.)

Hmm, no reason that should be happening, are you sure there's nothing else you did which could've hurt their rep.? Also, I would recommend getting build 14 beta 3, a lot of bugs have been removed and it has a lot of cool features you can't find in build 13.

Between getting onto the enemy ship and wiping out the enemy on the second deck? I don't think there is anything I can do which can hurt their reputation. There may be something I don't know about, which is why I asked. ;)

One thing I considered was that sometimes an enemy's sword will break. If that happens on land, he'll try to run away, and your (or your officer's) reputation will suffer if you (or the officer) continue to attack him. I don't think that happens if the disarmed enemy stands and fights with his fists, and anyway the reputation loss during boarding also happens when nobody has been disarmed.

As for Build 14: can anyone confirm that this is a bug in Build 13 which has has been detected and dealt with in Build 14?

You shouldn't get rep losses when fighting characters who fight back with their fists, because they are NOT unarmed: they've got their fists.

It is a bug I've ever even heard of. But Build 14 changes SO many things that if we haven't noticed that one, I don't think it is there anymore.
It has been many, many years since most people here played Build 13.

I have gotten into fights on deck where the opponents sword breaks and he continues to fight to the death, and I got no bad rep. Heh. Recently that even happened to a surrendered Captain. His sword broke and when I looted the corpse he had many good swords, and even an excellent one.

On land there have been times when a sword breaks and he runs away. When I followed and cut him down I got bad rep.

Yep, that would happen. If he runs away, he does NOT have his fists and therefore is considered unarmed.
Keep in mind that "fists" are as much a "sword" as any of the normal ones.
