Reccomendation on getting the game

Guys I should have my game ....hopefully in time for the weekend so I can make my eyes bleed.

Should I play the origional game after patching the crap out of it or just install and go straight to mod ?

BTW do you get a squadron or are you just using one ship ?

( I'm getting confused again and my ADD is acting up ...all caused by POC bugs..I think they jumped into my head ).

If you get the game, I recommend you play it without mods first. Then you'll appreciate the work that has been done much more. After that get Build 12.1. Or Build 13, which should be released this weekend.

There are no 'patches' of Pirates of the Caribbean to fix all the insanely aweful bugs it ships with.

I'd suggest go straight for Build 13 beta 8 (or release, if its posted this weekend on schedule). It has less bugs than the stock game, and about 200% more content and fun.

well stock PotC is worth looking at just for the interest value, and what Pieter said - you will massivley appriciate what the wholw modding community has done to the game.

If you dont have time to burn - then do as hat suggests - get into the best version straight away <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

When I first got the game, I tried to play it without the build, but it was so horrible, I loaded the build after about 2 hours of play. The difference is night and day.

Well I was just playing The super mod version of POC for about a half hour and when I fired my cannons the game crashed...SO ...since I got POTC today in the mail I have just installed it.

I took the crash as a sign...an omen...I am sick of the bugs ...its bad when you have to force yourself to play a game .


I have the vanilla version of POTC and dont think I can deal with bugs right now...so I will use the 13.8 version of the mod I dowloaded earlier this week ...like in about 30 seconds.

Without the build it is a quite worthless game, bother not with it!
