quest book stopped working??

I just left Greenford and got the Inca idol after battling the English ship. So, then I go to the lighthouse to find Daniel, but she isn't there. (as you probably know) Anyway... my questbook "dumped" the quest I am working on and it is no longer in the book, SO, I got on my ship, and was washed overboard during a storm and I am now going to go to Dowsen. OK, I keep hearing the GONG when my quest book is supposed to be updated, but nothing shows in it. BUG? or just the way the game is... OR, Is my quest book on my ship or part of the ship? and that is why I can't read "NEW" additions?

Also... I need more SKILL and ABILITY points... What is the best way to aquire more??

OH By the way.... I am playing with only BUILD 12.1 MOD installed.

That is a very strange bug. Unfortunately, I have no idea how it gets caused or how to fix it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" />

To get more skill and ability points, you should try to level up some more. You can do this by doing whatever you want: Doing trade missions, fighting with enemies, sinking enemy ships, etc. I usually buy a Letter of Marquee from a country and try to sink as many ships enemy to that country to get level-ups and become more known throughout the archipelago. You should visit the governor every now and then to see if you have made any promotion yet.

Whoops, I made a mistake.... it really isn't a bug, but my quests were complete, and I just didn't scroll down far enough to read them. I finally did read in my FIND DANIELLE quest that I needed to go back to Ilse Mulle (SP?) and basically, I just didnt' "see" that in the finished quest. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

BUT on the good side, there was NO BUG and all is well!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Same thing happens to me in the stock version.

Quest drops to the bottom of the list and appears closed without any warning.

and to answer you're other question bout skill points best way is to simply cheat lol.

but otherwise i usually get lots of sailcloth and planks and head into a storm. (that or go renegade inside a fort lol)

Thanks for that! I didn't think of sailing into a storm to aquire points. Planks and sail cloth are easy to get when you board a ship and take their goods. Does anyone know how many points you need to go up one level??

In other words... when you have a sword fight, you see in the top left corner... JOE has aquired 200 points and one sabre. So, my question is how many points make up a "level"?

Thanks!!

Jim

to get to lv 2 its 1000 but it increases with each lv up you can see how many point you need in your character menu its underneath the picture of your character I beleive.

Thanks Zolo! That is exactly the info I was looking for. I have always wondered what those numbers meant. It sure does help to know that... if you only need XX points, then all you need to do is go out and look for trouble <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> so you can get the few you need. I also gave it a try, and this is nice to know now how to understand that.
