Problems with Abbilities

Hiya lads and lasses,

Im really new to this game and have basically understood feck all so I have started cheating ... *looking at his shoes***

well anyway I have finally escaped them two spanish ships at the very beginning of the Blood storyline and have now landed in Martinique and now suddenly when I have a look at my characters abbilites and stuff theres all these red negative numbers in front of my skillpoints. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of them or how I have caused them?

Edit: oh yeah I forgot, for some reason whenever I have completed a task I keep spending money instead of earning it...

The ship you are in (frigate) is not suited for your level. To be precise you don't have necessary navigation to use that ship properly.

Capture smaller ship and sell or leave at port control that frigate for better days. You can see what navigation level is required for wich class of ship if you rightclick on your navigation in character menu.

Sorry about this nooby question, but Im just really really confused with all the stats and quest and what have yer.

In my opinion the best solution is to put the ship in storage, since it's unique and if you sell it, it's gone for good and you will never see another one like it. But before you do anything, buy a tartane (~1k) and assign the frigate to one of your officers to get rid of the stat penalties, otherwise you're going to have to pay outrageous prices for everything.
