Problem with mouse in POTC game

Hello,
after like 10 years I stumbled upon my old pirates of the caribbean game (I have it original with 2cds) and I wanted to play it just to remind myself how it used to be.
I installed the game and everything works fine except the fact that most things (especially equipment, saving the game etc) doesnt work, when I click on it there is only a sound of clicking but it doesnt work. (just like my mouse is not working)
The fun fact is when I press F8 or hold it all the time, then mouse works. (I dont know why F8 or another F, I was just clicking everything on keyboard and found out about this) but there is nothing matched with f8 in controll settings. Another fun fact is that when I hold F8 my screen refresh rate goes from 240 to 60 I think.
F11 works the same way..
In a simple way, when I click on something it doesnt get highlighted, I need to press F8 to get it highlighted like I actually clicked on it..


Anyone know how to fix it? I tried fps limiter, compatibility settings, reinstalling etc...
I believe its something that my software is maybe too new for this game? (win10)

Usually I just limit the FPS to 60 and it fixes such issues. Rivatuner that comes with MSI Afterburner works well for this.
The AMD and Nvidia FPS limiter settings don't work with PotC unfortunately.

It's awesome revisiting old games, but those tech glitches can be a buzzkill. Windows 10 compatibility sometimes messes with older games. Have you tried running it in compatibility mode for an earlier Windows version? Also, speaking of gaming, have you checked out CS2? It's amazing how newer software impacts older games. Hope you get that pirate adventure running smoothly soon!
