POTC Saved Game

CapnSunk

Sailor Apprentice
Ahoy! I was wondering if anyone has or knows of a place I can download a saved game for POTC. After picking up Sid's new Pirates! remake and not being overly impressed by it I got the urge to play POTC again. I however did not like the main campaign of POTC at all, what I did like was the mods you guys did here. So I dont really want to have to go through the entire campaign again and can't find a saved game anywhere let alone one with your newest mod build.

Have an ale! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/beer2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":beer" border="0" alt="beer2.gif" />

You really don't have to play the main quest, I tend not to pay attention to it much at all except for bugtesting... USUALLY I sail out of Oxbay for the first time and let the French take it over - and forget to tell Silehard about it until quite far along in my game - and I have fun sailing around beating up on the pirates AND the French... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

That said, if you want a Build 12 savegame, I might have something for you. Give me an idea of what you'd like, I'll try to find something that will come close. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Hmm Thanks I never thought about never going to mention the attack until later in the game. I'll give that a go then, thanks. I like quests I just didnt like the main quest in this game, it just doesn't fit in with my views on piracy I guess. I liked the quests with Sea Dogs more and especially the added island and quests in the mods. I prefer thrusting my rapier through a spanish officer rather than the undead I guess.

Ah, in B12 you won't find the Skellies, maybe a few mummy natives ("Akellani") from the original game before Disney got a hold of it - but we disabled the Skellies except for some in the dungeons, should you so desire to reactivate them. (edit switch in PotCProgramBuildSettings.h in NOTEPAD - not Word or Wordpad)

I don't care much for the original quest either, so I do as I please in the game, much more fun... After a while I finally mention it to Silehard, and play the main quest through just for something to do.

Play the Fred Bob quest, CapnSunk, you'll like it, I think. I made it - go to FdF and find Orable Caron at the port near the bottom of the steps leading to the Harbormaster's office. Talk to him, and he'll eventually tell you about a Boatswain... You'll want to take his letter to a lady on IM... Just follow the hints and clues and read your logbook, and you'll go on a neat quest that takes you from FdF to IM to QC and back to IM to a really fun finish... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

At the end, BEFORE you go into the tunnel when taking the lady to her pirate lover, SHEATHE your sword. Don't worry, you'll have enough time to draw it again... It just makes the ending a whole lot more neat. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Thanks I'll give that a go for sure! Right now I'm trying to figure out a way to activate all the clothing options so I can figure out what I wanna do in this game, pirate or dutch <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Pirate ur a Dutchman,not a tuff choice fer Ol' skull mate <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

You can also visit a tailor ingame and get more "clothes" to wear... It's like when you talk to Malcolm in the tutorial - only you'll be able to buy your skins to use when you wish (like if you think you'd like armor, buy a Dutch soldier skin and you'll have armor). <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Yep I'v been going to tailors alot but every time I find one I like I find one I like even more <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Is there a simple way to add them all to a character at the start so I can flip through them and find which one I want without going in/out of the tailor?

Hummm, not sure, I had nothing to do with that mod. If you do the Fred Bob quest, after you hire him HE has all the clothing change choices that Malcolm gave you in the tutorial when you start a new game. Just ask him! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /> That should cover MOST of the changes (he does not have all). <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I tried all those at the start, I thought maybe they were items and I could just edit the file and have hawk start with all of them but I cant seem to find anything in any of the files about the tailor and such.

O well a few more ports and I should have most of them I would imagine, then I'll get me a ship thats longer than 12ft and then get started on that quest.

Sure. Just turn on debug mode.

(You will need to add the line
DEBUG = true;
to your console and hit F12 during the game. Then when you wish to turn debug mode off (it does other funny things as well, change that to debug = false; and hit F12 again.)

Can't seem to get it to work. I opened up the file console and added the line, so the top of my console looks like this:

// `Jerry-rigged` console file.
//put code under ExecuteConsole() below.
//NK `04-08`-28
extern void InitShips();
void ExecuteConsole()
DEBUG = true;
{

Then I started up POTC, loaded the game and hit F12. It says it loaded console but when I go to character and choose new outfit the only one I have is the one I chose from malcom.
