Personal flags

I wonder
1) Is the last (white) flag used for any purpose or is the spot free?
2) If not free to use, is there any of the other personal flags I can replace?

The white flag is free.

Once that's used, any further personal flags will need to replace existing ones. My suggestions, in no particular order, are:.
. The British red and blue ensigns in "perflg3" - if you want to fly a British flag, use the actual British flag for your chosen period;
. The one which looks like a mutated British flag in "perflg4". It's actually a Russian naval jack, and jack flags are special ones which should only be flown from a jackstaff, and then only when moored. The proper Russian naval ensign is a simple blue saltire on white background which is in "perflg3", so the jack is both incorrect and redundant;
. The one with red and white stripes and a snake with the motto "Don't Tread on Me" in "perflg5". This is the American "First Navy Jack", which means that like the Russian jack, it should only be flown on a jackstaff, in port; and like Britain, if you want to fly an American flag, use an actual American flag.

And ideally, if you can get "Woodes Rogers" to use the Swedish national flag, the copy in "perflg5" could be replaced too.

Thanks for the answer. The "Don't Tread on Me" I have used (on land) in WR.
I could use one of the three free Pirate flags instead. Would that be to prefer?

Perhaps use the "Serapis" flag if you want something with an American theme? That's the stars and stripes flag in "perflg6" and was used by John Paul Jones in 1779. Anyway, we don't need to consider which personal flags to replace until the last empty one has been used and someone then wants a new one.

I could use one of the three free Pirate flags instead. Would that be to prefer?

If your flag is to be used by a pirate, use a pirate flag. If not, use a personal flag. In the long run it doesn't much matter; eventually if the free slots are used up, something will need to be removed for a new flag to be added, whether personal or pirate. There are more free pirate flag slots but not as many "expendable" flags which could readily be replaced once the free slots are used.

I took a look at that once and it was so much work...
