I found something that may sweeten POTC majorly.

It's a program that allows you to assign voice commands to a button.
I haven't tried it yet, I'll get the trial version and tell you how it works this evening.
What I plan to do is to bind "Hoist sails!" and "Clew up the sails!" or something like that to W and S buttons respectively. The program also has a feature where you can have the action performed continously until you tell it to stop. This is what I'll do for A and S buttons.
I can picture it now, I'd yell "Load balls!" and then "Fire!" and then scare the entire neighbourhood. Nice.
EDIT: You can also adjust the duration that a certain command would last. What it means is that you can bind "Helmsman, two points to starboard!" to D and set that to last about 4 seconds. And so on.
