Hello all first post <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

I am using build 13 final.

I just wanted to know how your officers skills and abilities effect your skills and abilities.
Like if i have an officer with 10 sailing and basic defense how does exactly effect my sailing and ship?
I would also like to know where i could find the code for this


I have also been experiencing alot of game crashes and I have not change any code other then the basic stuff in build settings. They normal happen right after a ship battle or when I am finished buying goods from the store. The screen just goes black and then closes with no warning or error message. any advice on how to solve this ?

If you select "Shared Experience" in the abilities section (when you have enough experience) then if the officer has 10 sailing it will be added to you.
(same applies for other skills) so as you recruit officers look at their various skills before hiring them to maximise your total abilities.
 
So its a one to one thing? So, if I have 10 sailing and my officer has 10 sailing I would then have 20 sailing. Also do my officers have to have the shared experience ability in order to share there stats and abilities or do there stats always effect mine no mater what?
 
Truth be told, I'm not at all sure how this all works.
I do think it's a bit confused and needs to be rewritten and improved.

Well I have some programing experience, if you tell me where to find the code on that I would love to take a look at it.

for example:
If officer 1 has sailing skill of 8 and officer 2 has sailing skill of 6 and you have sailing skill of 1
then the "actual" skill value would be 8 (i.e. the value of the "best" officer's skill per attribute).
Which is why you should be selective when hiring officers - to be sure they EACH have different "best" skills, so the combined skills for you is maximised.

As to looking at the program you could start in PROGRAM\INTERFACE\officer.

I wouldn't know where to find the code, but I'm sure it would be very welcome if yo worked on it.

EXCEPT - several officers do come in handy for a fight with several attackers. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />
