i like played potc 2years ago, the regular version,

and for some reason i started again with this great mod this time ^^


but i don't understand the entire reputation stuff yet,
and none of the most other new things for that mather :$


my style is to board every pirate ship i encounter and take it over,
then sell all the goods and the ship untill i got enauf money to do whatever i feel like

so this is what happened:

- i got me 3 kickass officers, all 1 lvl lower then me atm
- at some points pirates didn't attack me anymore unless i boarded em, ??
- and now stores don't like me anymore <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> they say the'll call the gaurds if i don't get lost, cry

where do i vendor my stolen ships now <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> ?

i'm neutral to all factions, my officers are all heros, and i'm a bloody .... something bad <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />


and ow yea, is it normal that you have to board a ship like 8times before it's yours ?

Sounds like your reputation has taken a hit below the waterline. A couple things can cause this;

1. You borrow money from a loan shark and don't pay it back, or don't pay it back on time,

2. If your officers get into a fight with the town guards, that can affect your reputation even if you aren't involved in the fight, or initiate it.

3. I'm fairly certain that if you don't complete a trade mission your reputation suffers from that, and the other traders won't deal with you, but I could be mistaken.

4. Firing on a neutral ship will cause a drop to your reputation.

One thing, your personal reputation; Hero, Dashing, Horror of the High Seas, etc., is not your rating with the individual powers in the Archipelago; Spain, England, Portugal, France, the pirates and the Dutch, as you can have a high personal reputation, but a hostile rating with the individual islands.

It might be worth a try to go and save some young ladies out in the jungle, and see whether or not this gets your game back on track. The fact that your officers are all rated "Heros", and that you have a neutral standing with all of the powers, leads me to believe that Number 4, is what is causing the problem. Can't you sell the ships at the pirate island, Quebrada Costillas? I say that because being considered a "Horror of the High Seas" isn't always a bad thing ....

Are you talking about the number of decks you have to fight on before you take over a ship? You should only have to board a ship once to defeat the crew and take possession of it. If you have a small ship and you board a large ship, like a Man O' War, you will have to fight on a large number of decks before you take control of the ship. Is that what you're talking about? Otherwise, you should only have to board the ship once to take control of it. Let us know if you're having that problem because that would be a bug.

well the only 'neutral' ship i ever fired on where pirate ships,

but how the hell did those get neutral to me in the first place


and about the boarding,
it's not that,

i saw the multiple deck fighting before, but this is different,

it's always the uper most deck over and over again,
i even get taken back to the ship view (and have to board again manualy or somethimes it boards instantly again)

i fight the first deck like 4-8times and then the captain surrenders and the ship is mine,

or maybe i'm doing something rong and have to walk to the next deck downstairs?

Your ratings in the game change over time based on your activity, if you don't attack anyone then eventually you will be neutral with everyone. I've had it happen where the pirates were neutral to me when I was focusing on attacking French or Dutch or Spanish ships. Likewise your rating goes up for the enemy nations of the ships you attack; English like it when you attack the French, and everyone likes it when you fight the pirates, etc..

For the boarding, when you clear a deck of enemies you're hitting F3 or the space bar when the lock symbol appears right? After you check the chests for loot, that is. That takes you down to the lower decks to fight there.

From what you're saying it sounds like the game may be doing something wierd. What version of the Build are you playing? In Build 12 this doesn't happen, but I haven't played the game with 12.1 or the Modpack, so I don't know what goes on with that. Let us know what version of the game you are playing.

and my reputation problem is solved,

well first i just went to sell at the pirate island,
but now my reputation went from bloody horror to matey because i pick up
survivors from ships i sink <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

and i also killed the captains before, now i don't do that anymore and capture them
and get ransom money for them ^^

so problem solved, haven't checked yet but i'm pritty sure i can shop anywhere again,
since the pirate shop is now 'happy' to see me,
and before he always said 'not you again!'

i'm getting the hang of this mod ^^

atm i'm using a small very fast ship to board with my main char,
and put my best officer on the Manowar i captured from some french fleet <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

it's very nice covering fire but that thing is just to slow to do what i like,
boarding and outmaneuvering enemy ships ^^

another question,

the building your own town thingy, is that possible yet?

in the latest mod, or is that yet to be inserted?

and how would you do that
 
yeah i had that same question..

I asked my first mate to have something built..but i didnet have any planks so i didnet get to try it..Ive been dreaming about building some type of block house or fixed battery on redmond and oxbay to annoy the brits.

Only negitive part is that the AI is not really made for large land battles where cannon fire on land or the AIs army attacks u all the time, coz id love to repel them trying to capture my earth works in the middle of there island inbtween greenford and oxbay..also put a sea battery on octapus bay on the side of that steep trail <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> and sweep the beach with grape shot as thay try to land wahhahahaahha <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />


P.s. hopefuly in the POBS or what ever the title be) whitch is just anouther name for POTC but thay wont say that lol maybe land battles with artillery will be put in..or we can mod it...id love to have army units and field artillery ah just day dreaming <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />
