need help for ship location

Hello, I try to do a quest who woud learn me how to modify programs.The problem I get is now I can aboard in Khael Roa island as the begin of the game but can't leave it(no ship on the sea and red cross when "fast travel"),and the girl I put there can't talk to me.My "robert & collins" let me down so I'm not sure about words I write.If you're interesting by a new nation who use pirats ships with skelet as crew(and permit to aboard the Blackpearl) I can upload the files...

What game version do you use? What exactly did you do?
How did you go about those skeletons on ships? Did you manage to put skeletons on other ships than the Black Pearl?
 
Hello,I use the "original french version" game.As I wanted to aboard The Blackpearl at the end of the game I did modify some lines in quest_reaction:

Character_SetAbordageEnable(characterFromID("Barbossa"), true);
LAi_SetImmortal(characterFromID("Barbossa"), false);

and in Storycharacters: Lai_SetImmortal(ch, false);

and in ships_ini: refShip.AbordageLocation = "BOARDING_BATTLESHIP";(for the Blackpearl)

so I can aboard the Blackpearl,but his crew is pirats model.To get skeletons on the ship I had idea to créate a new nation from Barbossa character:

makeref(ch,Characters[n]); //Barbossa.
ch.name = "Barbossa";
ch.lastname = "";
ch.id = "Barbossa";
ch.nation = MOVI; (<=NEW NATION(MOrts-VIvants))
ch.model = "Skel1";

I had to add this nation in:characterutilite.c, globals.c ispyglass.c, nation.c, nation_init.c, ship.c

as all nations are ennemy with "MOVI" you can sometime aboard ships with skeletons along the game.
 
Ah; so it's skeletons in the boarding scene. We actually did that in Build 13 Final as well; you might want to check it out.
a simple virtual sailor is working on a French translation for Build 13 as well, though I don't think it's entirely finished yet.
 
Sorry,I didn't know you do that! For my problem I havn't the solution yet. I changed some lines but the résult is always the same: no ship on the sea, so I can't get out. There are these lines in the compile.log:

LoadLocation(ref loc) KhaelRoa_port
LocLoadShips: Can't find Location.locators.ships_other in location: KhaelRoa_port
ItemLogic: On load location KhaelRoa_port
ItemLogic: found 0 buttons

Have you an idea?
 
What I would certainly recommend you to do is to install Build 13 Final. Since you have a French version of the game, it's best to install Build 12.1 first. Both files can be found through the links in my signature. There's a lot additions in those modpacks and much of what you try to do has already been realised in there.

Unfortunately this will translate the game into English, but <i>a simple virtual sailor</i> has been working on a French translation. Send him a PM for more information. I think there's a fair amount of Build 13 compatible French translated files on the FTP already.
 
Well, I think I gonna do that! I've to confess that's also for pleasure, fun and curiosity I tried to modify the game.

What didn't <i>I</i> do? Pretty much everything. Most work was done by other people. I just put it

together.
Anyway, the possibilities are pretty much limited only by your imaginations, though some game engine

restrictions also apply.
But there's still plenty things left that could be done. New quests are always possible and there's

plenty of room left for improvement.
If you'd like to try and do some location-work, you could try and finish Eleuthera in Build 14 Alpha 8.

Hello, I tryed to install build 14 alpha 8 but the game crashes.I'll have to reinstall it. Could you tell me more about Eleuthera's quest? what sort of work would you like?
 
It's a bit early to start on a quest; we first need the location finished.
Right now Eleuthera is a copy of Greenford with hardly any characters at all.
No governor, no shipyard owner, a storekeeper without dialog, etc.
What needs to be done is to first create the locations, then add the characters and their dialogs.
Talk with Thomas the Terror about suggestions on which models to use for the locations.
He might want to have a go at reskinning them. I hope. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

What you had with the ladies and the money sounds to my like you pressed F12 (console) whilst in port.
That is now a bug; Pirate_KK put that in there for quick testing. It's a bit of a cheat.

There're some problems but now you've traders in the street, a tailor (I don't know why but when you buy a coat it also change your face),you have a priest,so you've all.At store goods are only swords.And governor's dialogs doesn't work. Sorry! Does it uses greenford as a location or not? Because maybe you should change that, because we have too many greenford clones in the game.
 
What do you want to say? If you talk about models I took them in all the game. For exemple governor is "50Grey1",
Shipyard is "50_boss1"...but if you want I can easily change the "ch.Model". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" />
For the store I didn't found the way to sell or buy goods. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
I mean the location models, not the characters. But I don't think you should take the grey and boss model, since the boss was a quest only model for Isenbrandt Jurcksen, and Grey is Petros and Gregor Samsa.
