All modders please tell us how did you learn modding it might be usefull cause i wanna do something for the bloody community
 
I personally learned modding simply by doing it, combined with a lot of trial and even more error. I started making slight changes to the code and putting other people's mods together. Eventually I learned it. WinMerge sure helped a lot in that respect. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
 
Aye, for most games I've modded over the years, it was just jumping in and poking at the code with a sharp stick, watch for what twitches. **grins**

I learned skinning with a REALLY basic tutorial from Gushy, it only said how to change color of something, the rest i learned myself, NO, not entirely, hexing i learned from pieter, just like putting ships ingame
 
hmm coding is a good way to mod but the interfaces and such who and how did ya'll do that ?
 
All done in the .ini, .c & .h files, using calls to various draw functions to place the locations for graphics, as well as calling the specific graphic file in question. I'm trying to figure a bunch of that out myself, so trust me, I know how confusing it can be.

the wrong place and the Engine.exe tells you where to go
namely the Desktop....and do not forget to backup the file
you intend to fiddle with!!!!!!!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
cause i really wanna re-build the buildsettings program in a good way
