Hello all,

I thought it might be useful if every single modder who is still active on the forums posts a message here, saying what you can mod and what you want to mod. That might help people, so that if they have trouble with a certain mod, they'll know who to contact. So please post here if you are a good modeler, skinner, coder, bugfixer, etc.

I am the compiler of the Post Build 12 modpack. Although I am no brilliant coder, I can make make some mods and fix some bugs. I have some experience with 3D modeling for another game (<a href="http://www.avsim.com/vs" target="_blank">Virtual Sailor</a>), so I can give suggestions about 3D modeling. I am no good at texturing though. I can do very simple things, but it'd look bad ingame.

I'm able to do some things in skinnin, recolorations and reskins, although i can manage to do a few things by this way, I still need to really learn texturing, creating all new textures for all new models, but if the texture is something existing, i can manage with the few competences i have, to do something with it

I work with particles, specifcally, cannon effects. im also fairly handy in texturing flags. Recently starting to resculpt existing models.

My current project, besides of getting my history degree by the end of the year is replacing the totally out of place medieval fortifications in PotC, I have toyed with Inez tool and I know how to get simple models ingame, besides that I am a complete ignorant.

As my long term project I would like to create a completely new town, with new marketplace, cathedral, docks and governor´s house.

I would also like to know who is willing to work with me to help me complete both of my projects.

I tinker with anything that I can make work and end up learning something new along the way. So far I've added the Lugger VML (SLiB) to the game and I'm currently working on introducing the JMV Character skins (officers and soldiers). I've also made a few personal flags for myself.

So, I guess I've got a reasonably good understanding of how to introduce new character models and ship models into the game. I'm also getting my head around introducing new items as well and plan to do so in the near future. I've also started experimenting with new textures and retextures for both ships and characters however so far I haven't made anything that I'm satisfied is good enough to release. Hopefully I'll have some new ship and character skins going soon, but only if they're good enough. Still sharpening my skills there. I'd also like to do some modelling, however at the moment I don't have a 3D modelling program... soon, though.

Anyway I'll just continue to tinker with all elements of the game to learn how they all work.

p.s.

Captain Caceres. I'll gladly help you with anything that I have an understanding of. I'd love to see a completely new town in the game so I'll start having a look at what is involved.

Pieter. I've just been trying out the demo for Virtual Sailor and really enjoyed it. Think I might have to buy it. Does it have ships from the Great Age of Sail, pirate ships, Napoleonic warships? Do you buy new ship models or are they shared around a community? Sorry about going off topic.

I'm afraid I won't be able to call myself "active" during the next months. The sudden spring after a long winter means a lot of work and outdoor activity for me, so like every year there will be almost no time for gaming or modding during the summer. Hello,

I know basics of script used in PotC; in my work I modified code in most part. I'm responsible for changed national relations system, added Nathaniel own colors and also I enabled boarding of Black Pearl and French squadron guarding Oxbay. I also made minor changes in main scenario. Finally, fixed some mistakes/bugs. Unfortunately, during my work I added some new bugs, but I always try to eliminate them all.

I have also some experience with graphics (I created flag and sail emblem for Nathaniel) but I'm on very low level.

Of course, I'm willing to continue work and help in modding, but currently don't have time (only some to check forum but not for serious modding work).

Hello. My name is 'The Wolf', professional harasser of shipping, and infamous captain of the self-built 'Black Wolf' super corvette. (I call the idea, the type of the ship this way, the model not that good.)

My basic interest, and knowledge YET:
- character, ship remodelling, professional file converting methods <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> (character models gm use 66k instead of regular 74k)
- retexturing character, low_man, ship, (only one ship until this date)
- and working together with Capitan Caceres to make the realistic forts ingame.
- Professional bug-seeker (sometimes hunter-killer, if I got at least 2 days totally free, an energy drink, and the problem REALLY getting on my nerve)
- Scary ideas about ingame parrots, and ingame british navy career... ANd about all kind of future mod.

Experience:
Tons of php, A lot of pascal coding (No, Im not a caveman, ok?!) A lot of delphi coding (made 2 adventure game engines from zero, no imported code, based on lamer windows platform) a bit of C coding, but I really want some help, to learn POTC system coding itself! Appears pure visual c++ for first sight, but need to know the basic functions, to not kill the game with tweaking. ANYONE could give me a hand, and share knowledge?????

Interests: History itself, SMART (not braindead) type of pirate games, all type of historical reenactment, I am a traditional bow & arrow shooter, traditional fencing (with rapier, spade) Horseriding, all military knowledge useful in urban or forest environment, and: Ninjutsu.

Constructed original Build 12 installer and update engine; modded sails, sounds, and munitions physics (guns and arms).

Admittedly, I've gotten the best cannon/deck guns sounds from Sid Meier's Pirates! and Silent Hunter III into the game, and rebalanced the ship's munitions based upon historical records.

That'd be great. Real combat behaviour. It's been far to easy to defeat most adversaries, even if they're greatly superior, if you have a ship of better sailing qualities and manoeuverability.
