Hiya (ahem) Ahoy
Ive just loaded PotC. I purcased the game from a friend and it came with box, jewel case, disks but no book. Ive got most of the game figured out but I need a little help on a few things.
I got to Redmond just fine, sold some sandal, made a bit of money. Then Im off to sail the seas. However I run into these problems
1) When you start sailing, you start off, I guess in this maplike area with a tiny little ship icon. I figured out you hit W to raise sails, and then do A and D to change ship direction. Now I *SWITCHED* this to left and right arrow, but it did not seem to take in this map area, and I cant find a key config for the map area. Is there a file I can edit?
2) Once you hit "Space" you go to the "open sea" where you see your actual ship sailing around. I cant turn the &#$(% Ship in this mode? Nor can I turn it in battle. How do you turn the ship?
3) Once your in the "open sea" how do you go back to the tiny maplike mode?
4) Skills and Talents.
I put most of my skill and talents into Swordplay, as I plan on doing a lot of boarding. Do people find that this, or Ship Gunnery make more of a difference? Im beginning to think that (once I figure out how to steer the *$($# Ship) that long distance accurate gunnery would be more helpful. Will a ship strike its colours without boarding?
4b) What skills and talents have people found most usefull.
5) Customisation of Clothes.
Since im running 11b, I can purchase other things like Uniforms. I really wish you could keep the same face, but different clothes. I think of them more as disguises. One question, If Im wearing a uniform, will I not be attacked by people? Ie if I buy a french uniform can I sneak into a french town and not get attacked by the guards?
6) Customization of ships.
Not trying to edit the number of guns or anything, but is there a way to skin a ship, so I could put a nice nelson checker on the outside?
6b) Are there custom ship models? Anyone have a Frigate similar to the Suprise?
