I've got 99 blades but the best ain't one

(Yawn!) Does anyone else find it dull scrolling through a gazillion swords to get to the end of the stall sellers list?

"Hmm I think I'd like to buy a worn beladiere today.."

Get with it merchants, can't you see I'm a captain of stature, offer me quality blades and I'll pay you a premium.

So far the quickest way of scrolling i've found is to repeatedly mouse click on the product furthest to the right. Scrolling with the keyboard just takes ages.

In the post Build 12 modpack, traders will not sell (badly) worn items anymore. And a new feature is added: "trader quality". If a trader has a high quality, he (she?) will have much more good blades and much less bad ones. A trader with quality 10 will have no bad blades. Only that causes a new problem, because traders then offer you the best items in the beginning of the game, so the trader levels must be set to be rather low in the beginning of the game. I believe someone is working on that... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
Anyway: You are quite right that this is annoying, but it will be fixed in the next Build update. It already is fixed in the post Build 12 modpack. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

BTW: The quickest way of scrolling is to keep the mouse button pressed on the product furthest to the right. You don't need to keep clicking on it all the time. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

That is even easier than using "arrow key + shift"

I didn't even know arrow + shift would speed up the scrolling! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Hey Peiter, I am working on that sword availability mod, but real life has gotten really hectic, so I'm not sure when I will finish it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

You were working on setting the itemtrader qualities, weren't you? if you send me all the changes you already made, that would be great. Then, when you get time again, you can finish it. Or somebody else could continue where you left off?
If you want, you can send it to pieter_boelen@planet.nl . Thanks already you all your work. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I got a little stuck with the merchants because I can't get them to improve. I trade with them over and over but regardless, they never improve. I even tried buying 1 rum at a time then leaving and coming back just to see how long it would take, and I never got them to improve. I wanted the merchants to start out with little and then as you progress and trade more, they will get better stuff, but I haven't figured that problem out yet.

Hmm. That's what is supposed to happen. However, I believe the trader qualities are being updated during sailing on the map, so when you do a lot of trading and then go to another island, the quality might have improved. At least, that's how I think it works. I don't know if it does; I've never seen it happen... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
