island to island

I love the 3d 1st person sailing mode, but I'm wondering, is it possable to sail from one island to another in this view with out going to the world map?

And, come to think about it, just how often would you use that "ability"? One time, two times perhaps? Have you ever tried sailing around one island using the realistic sailing setting, even with 30X time boost?

But you can sail away from an island to the island you want, but you have to be on the worldmap to "enter" the island.

Yes, you can sail anywhere in 3d, you just have to go to the wmap to reload your coordinates, to see if there are any islands in your vicinity. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

In the stock, I once sailed around the whole of Oxbay sevaral times in real time (I couldnt use speed then for some reason) because I was in a Lugger, just after the beggining cinimatic, and I tried to kill the squadron outside Oxbay. I nearly managed it too, I got the battleship after sevaral hours, a lot of saves and long range culverines. The other two I got stuck with, I had to sail away from them, but they chased me around the island, and so eventually, I decided to head for the safety of Greenford, which didnt turn out to be that safe because they fired at the ship that was BEHIND A ROCK! I would have survived if they had attacked the ship that it could fire at. It let loose a broadside and I was sunk in one.

I wasted half an hour of my life blasting away at those near-invincible french ships at Oxbay with my nimble little Frigate MM. There were many more french galleons, frigates, vettes and lineships I had to sink which had normal hp too. Then, with 30% sails, I made a run for it, hoping I was still faster than those godlike french vessels. But, alas, they always tailed me from about 300 meters, so I had to be cautious with those broadsides. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> I disabled the battleship, sunk it, then sunk all the rest. At the moment, easiest, but Im a low level character at the moment. Ill change that as I go on, and I do up the difficulty when I want a challenge on boarding.

Heh, the sail around Oxbay was in the Stock. Im not THAT bad a player, I have my fun with high difficulty now and then, but at the moment in the Build game, I only just left the Island I was on from stormy start!

Nope.

Tried it myself on x30 time compression. Once you hit the edge of the map you just stick there.
