OKay so i ithink i install everything right, the installer did something then i manuall dragged the files into the appropriate folders....i hope <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

now first of all, im on an intel imac so whenever i tap the "Apple" key by mistake it closes itself down, and then i cant bring it back up onto the screen, just has a black box (i can still hear the sound).

Whenever i hit 'A' to strafe my character just starts clipping through buildings etc.

Oh and when i start randomly stabbing gaurds in the street, they dont fight back! wtf!

Thanks Guys.

It would be an idea to make sure your system is within the System Requirements to play POTC.

The System Requirements are :

Pentium III 800Mhz or greater
GeForce2 level graphics card
128 MB RAM; recommended 256 MB
Windows 98\2000\XP

A lot of people having problems with the game crashing & most of the time the main reason is that their graphics card isnt strong enough.

The same thing happens if you accidentally tap the Windows or Menu keys on a PC keyboard. I solved the problem by prying the keytops off. Do it gently, and the keys should pop right off. You can put them back
later if you wish. I won't be putting the Windows and Menu keys back on mine. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

DISCLAIMER: Do this at your own risk. I've swapped many keytops out without problems on many computers, but I can't guarantee it will work on a Mac, as I've never seen their keyboards.

The game has always had a problem that if you TAB out of it, you can't go back. The engine doesn't reinitialize. It's a problem.

The A and D keys to sidestep do not have any collision checking. No one's figured out how to do that.

As for the guards, they should fight back. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> No idea why they won't. Maybe someone else has some ideas on this.

Workaround is playing not in fullscreen-mode. I do this, while debugging <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

If you are having troubles with the controls, be sure to put them reset them back to default first. Note: You can sidestep through everything. We can't prevent it from happening. Nobody has figured out how to anyway. Solution: Stop sidestepping when you reach a wall by releasing the sidestep key. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
<!--coloro:#FF0000--><span style="color:#FF0000"><!--/coloro-->Important note:<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> <b>DON'T</b> change the sidestep controls through the change controls interface; it won't work properly!

Sometimes I use the sidestep key to get around annoying 'officer clutter' when on top of stairs or something. They take too long to be PUSHED back, so I just sidestep around them (through the walls n stuff) until I come out where I want to be <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Apple/Command key is the same thing as the "Windows Menu" key. At least it is for my Apple USB Keyboard and my PC. Hitting that key is dangerous (in many games). I cant pop it off, as this keyboard doubles as a Mac keyboard through a KVM.
