i cant attack ships!!

I push reload then space and nothiing happens im losing all the time and its getting anoying i have 12lb cannanons and the ship thats with me doesnt seem todo much im trying to destroy the amuumintition ship!

can anybody help me!!

Well, I suppose there are some questions that need to be asked here.

Do you have a full crew compliment? They will reload faster if you do. You do have to wait until your reload indicators around the minimap (the green ones) are full until you fire again. You do not have to reload manually every time, your crew will do it for you. The only time you would have to reload manually is when you are changing shot from one type to another.

Is the ship you are trying to shoot at in your fields of fire? If they are not in the grey areas of the minimap, you cannot fire at them.

Is the ammunition ship showing as a gray triangle icon in your minimap? Then it is considered "neutral" rather than a friend (green) or an enemy (red). I had this problem myself, and the way I solved this was to sail into the harbor and let the fort blast the heck out of her... It's not nearly as satisfying as doing it yourself, but it does work! :?

i learned how to shoot but i cant seem to bring the ammunition ship down my ship always falls is tehre anyway that i cand efeat it, im firing alot and am getting the barque to fire aswell but the ship barley loses damage!

Its best to get your abilities and skill points up and reputation by doing store deliver cargo quests,and other minor quests,
tip,when attacking enemy ships try to position your ship behind it at 45 degree angle so he cant get a broadside shot at ya,use the sail to icon if ya have to till yer behind him :?

Don't reload to sea while the ammo ship is following you; head directly to Redmond and let the fort blast her to smithereens.

I actually find from using the `Man-o`-war that there seems to be an automatic fire bug. I try switching from 3rd to 1rst wiew, but when that doesn't work I go to first and fire manually!

at may be cause yer relations wid de nation of de ship yer fir'n at maybe wary an yer cannons won't fire automatically,ye has tew fire dem manualy until yer relations change tew hostile

I am finding I cannot hit the broadside of a barn when firing in first person. How do you aim the cannon?

Am Loving this game, but my decision processes are getting a little slow due to lack of sleep.

When firing reticule turns red, it means you are in range. I usually aim bit higher to hit masts and sails, this being doubly important when firing knippel or grape. Also better skill means less time between shots. Try also to take account of waves.
