Ive gotten the new build 12..and the new up date..but the new up date it dose not come with a self extracter..so i dont know how to put the files in there or where..

some of the directions are not very clear in detail on how to do things..such as what do you mean by tweeking things?? i think there would be fewer questions about how to install if things where more clear..

cheats..

Is it safe to use cheats in this game? money ..invencablity..with out the game crashing?

What update are you trying to install? All the updates from Pieters web site to my knowledge self install. They are zip files and self extract with the WinZip program. The most recent updates have alot of CTD's which are being worked out, so I would only install the 2/5/06 238mb mod. The new update that Pieter is working on and testing will be compatible with this mod. This update should be completed in the next couple of days, weeks. However, you can familiarize yourself with some of the characters, ships, weapons etc., now in the game with the 2/5/06 mod. Then download the newest update which hopefully will have fixed all the CDT"s.

A number of features in modded POTC can be tweaked or turned off. All of these features are found in the BuildSetting h (BS.h) file. You open this file in NOTEPAD and follow the comments. Any changes you want to make should be made before you start a game, as some changes you make later will require you to start a new game. After you have made the changes you want, save them in NOTEPAD. When you start the game use the I button to reinitialize the game.

Modded POTC has cheats, but you must enable cheat mod in the BS.h as it is off by default.

Yes..On your web site there are two files to download..

One is the new version out..and the other is the UPdate that is supose to be unzipped over it..

That is the file in question When i downloaded the second file and clicked on it on my desk top there was No Unzip software inside it..just a bunch of read mes and folders so there was No extracter in there Post_b12_full_upd_5-3-06 this file dose not have a program to extract to any file in POTC just folds in the downloaded file thats it..

Seeing this second file thinking it would act as the first and id just hit a butten and it would put the files int here right spot..well when i open it up there is no extracter so maybe this copy is bugged lol

Ok,

Now i have winzip..I extracted or unzipped not sure if there the same the addon..or up date onto the newer version and I got a run time messiage when i hit the icon to start..

So this tells me i did not extract it to the right place..i just went to the file and found the POTC folder main one after i clicked program files and before that drive <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> im thinking theres a folder in there that i didnet know about that i have to put it in and not just the main folder??

Please help i'm a bit mixed up on the orders sir!

Sounds to me like you did extract to the proper folder, but you didn't extract everything in the proper order. You should first install Build 12 (the self-extracting .exe file). Then install the 238 MB Post Build 12 mods (.zip file) and then the update. If you install Build 12 first and then the Post Build 12 update, you're mising lots of files.
