How to gain personal points?

What is the best way to gain personal points? I already have some ship points, but I can't seem to get personal points. Do I have to fight land fights for this, and what is the best place?

Fighting on land and onboard shiups will help gain your personal skill points, using your weapons is the key. Fighting the undead in the caves is the best way.
