How do u use the boarding party function????

I have tryed like 10 times to use a boarding party against a fort and the incon comes up and does nothing. How do i use it and what is the easiest way to assault a fort??

You know what? I've never tried using the landing party feature since I loaded Build 11, I'll have to try that and see if I can make out what it does. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

People's views differ on the easiest way to take a fort, but some people put culverines, which have longer range and do less damage then cannons, on their ship and stay out of range of the fort's cannons and then blast away at it.

I think if you get a Man O' War and start blasting at the fort, that seems a fairly easy way to deal with it.

No matter how you go about it, you should probably go into first person mode and aim between the battlements to take out the guns, so you have fewer guns shooting at you.

I went and played the game last night, as near as I can tell the only effect the landing party has is that there are fewer soldiers to fight in the fort, I didn't see any kind of announcement of the kind you see with other features in the game.

Personally, I enjoy the swordfights, so I'm less likely to use this feature, but that's what I observed. Maybe someone else will have something more to add on this.

I always thought that "landing party" ability gave you your officers to fight with as well as your crew when taking a fort. ??? No? (never used it, myself)

I think it just speeds up the frot's destruction. You have to have a second ship with you to use it.
