Here is some small stuff I did to mark the release of our most accurate HMS Surprise model to this day, since it has been a long awaited ship for this game!

I hope it will also permit us to bring some new crewmates on our "ship", since the Surprise is a famous ship and a masterpiece for many ship lovers, I also uploaded the video on the FTP, so we might put this on a news bill on MODDB that will bring us some more visibility thanks to this well known vessel...

I hope you'll think the teaser is ok ^^'

I think we might use this as a new bill, with screenshots to tell people on Moddb we've something new for them, like for some mod teams such as the Forgotten Hope guys, who regurlarly show their incoming content in news items, this way, we're seen by many more people!

Putting some screens and videos regularly is good, but
we've to announce them on the MODDB news page when it shows something really new.

If we don't, people have to track the mod, to know that there are some new items, only the people that know the mod already are informed.
In my case, i've to go to the MODDB page regularly, and to go to the galleries to see that there is some new contents...

It's like : "Hey, there are some new screens and vids over here... i didn't see that... when was it? three weeks ago?! This new model is nice!"

If we post news bill, we're seen on the main page, today we've here a famous ship to display, let's tell everyone with a news bill! :)

I agree with adding news items more regularly on ModDB. If that makes us more visible, then it's fine by me! :woot

I thought everyone was able to post news; not sure about making it show up on the main page, though. :shrug
If all else fails, I know Pieter can certainly do that. I might be able to as well, but I haven't tried yet.
 
That's brilliant, Seb! Too bad the picture is distorted when I viewed it on YouTube, but I'm sure it's fine on the downloadable version.

As for posting News items on the ModDB, by all means DO SO! If you find you are not allowed, let me know and I'll give you permission to do it.
 
I started my MODDB account recently so I am not able to do that yet, the pseudonym for my MODDB account is : flying_weasel :)

If you cannot yet post stuff to the NH profile, let me know and I'll give you rights for that also.
 
The Surprise is literally the most redone, continuously improved model of them all.
Not to mention the one that the most different people worked on.
 
That's why we can't let all that hard work doesn't go to waste, so at least the old model is still used (even though she's now the Indefatigable xD: ).
 
In fact, there was already a project before the "litterary surprise" started By Inzane and that we use now as the Indefatigable/Boussole :

At this time, we didn't have all the keys and tools to put some brand new models in game, we were doing retextures and combinations with existing stock ship elements... this model got lost and never saw the day light.
