HELP error starting Age of Pirates 2

Starts with, "Please Insert Original DVD". I've installed the 1.3 patch and also the new 2.0 upgrades to no success. I've also uninstalled/reinstalled 3-4 times. Any other ideas or help greatly appreciated. I've tried all the suggestions from the Forum on 7/4/2009 and nothing worked. (Also reinstalled Adobe 9 (to no avail)

Hi! So I am a bit confused about the 1.3 and 2.0 upgrades you are mentioning. Did you install mods on top of the installation? Also, did you install the game via disk? Could you tell me what exactly you did to get the game on your PC?

Yes, I did install the game via a DVD disc and got the "Please Insert Original DVD". I Uninstalled and reinstall the disc 2-3x but still got the same "Insert Original Disc" error. So I looked for help and found LordDrow's Solution as:
"Patched to 1.2? The game? If so, you'll need to reinstall. The english language version of the game is already 1.3.0. If you installed the russian 1.2.3 update, you have broken your game."
Published on 7/4/2009 in the pirate's ahoy forum. But this did not correct the issue... Any idea's... I've read before, several years ago, that the game is suppose to be verified as an original DVD Disc versus a copy (Mine is an original with all the packaging, including the maps and guide book)
As far as what I did to get the game on my PC I installed the disc into my External DVD Drive USB 3.0 (I have two different ones and tried each of them. The oldest DVD driver has installed Pirates of the Caribbean. POC City of Abandoned Ships and many other PC games over the years...The 2nd DVD Driver is new). I also reinstalled DirectX 9 to make sure it was up to date and I was connected to the internet in case the disc or systems needed to be updated for the game...
