My hardest? Against the Pearl in the original PotC. One MoW, two Battleships. It was hard. Very hard. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I didnt find the Black Pearl too hard in the stock PotC. I just used the artifact straight away, and I only had 1 Battleship. Heh, I suppose thats cheating a little bit though.
 
Well, I didn't realize that I could use that "artifacty" <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> thingy, so I battled it several times, wearing it down to 2/3 or 1/2 of it's health. Damn hard, it was. Then I called a friend who pointed out that I could try the commands menu, and see what I can do there...

I fought the BP without the artifact the first time because I had NO IDEA that I could even use it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock:" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" /> Heh...
 
I made the mistake of raking her with grapeshot, reasoning somewhere along the line "no crew, no ship". Well, that was a mistake, after reducing the crew to six, the ship flees and being the fastest ship in the carribean it´s uncatchable unless you use the Sail-to function. It took me hours to get the goddammit thing sunk <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Well, patience isnt really a virtue on the battlewaters "Just wait a few minutes before putting out a broadside" and "wait a minute, have a break from repairing the ship, its only at 1%hull"...

Me, I think the hardest battle--well, the hardest I remember--was when I was testing fleets the other day (Monday? Sunday?) and I took a break to go see one of the A&M islands.
Now, I hadn't done _anything_ with that game--just started from scratch. Don't think I even repaired the lugger up to full HP. So I come to--hmm, Cayman?--and I reload to sea. And it's _swarming_ with pirates. So I sailto the harbor, thinking, well, they're probably on the back side, they won't mind if I go ashore for a peek at the jungle.
Wrong.
I had a war schooner (not a dinky fast schooner, a /war/ schooner with them ouchies known as long nines) on one side, and a galleon (!) on the other. Knowing my luck she was probably a war galleon, but I don't recall.
So I come screaming through, and manage to (1) get my bowsprit clopped off by the cliffs, (2) get a load of grape on my deck but, thank goodness (3) board the schooner.
'Tweren't a fun time (well, OK, it was) but I finally clean out the schooner. So now, well, in for a penny in for a pound, I go to see that galleon. So I lose _that_ bowsprit too on the way, but I finally get on the _other_ side (the _good_ side!) of a load of grape, and board away.
And win.

And, of course, she crashes when I try to swap to the galleon.
