Gunboat

I'm abig fan O' Skelly bob's Gunboat,and have used it to take down MOW,I'd be think'n its possible to play up to Black Pearl,don't think its possible to beat the Black Pearl in a cannon fight,with a Gunboat,but ye might survive the boarding O' Black Pearl and captur'n her. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Another thing is that you wouldn't be successful attacking any forts either, and Greenford's is required.

is there a way of enlarging tht fleet?
it seems a bit pathetic by royal navy standards.
or maybe make their guns reload super fast eg they shoot 2 volleys in the time it takes for you to reload once.

They are not really royal navy, they are Silehard's Navy remember?

yeah, i remember.

but sadly i dont encounter large battle fleets in game, i know its supposed to happen, but even when all sightings are reported to me, i still dont get any battlefleets.
the best i get are small fleets [extremely rare] and scratch patrols [quite common but small]
could someone make it so that the frequency of battlefleets can be altered in buildsettings?

Did run into a large fleet a couple O' times,sumth'n like 4 MOW,couple a corvetts an can't remeber how many other ships as this was some time ago,but loads O' loot an plenty ter plunder <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
i wonder where you can change that because wit my frigate all i get is merchants and well lets just say not so good pirates
 
is the difficulty level linked to the size of the fleets you face?

and a problem: everyone on QC is hostile to me, and i cant deliver silehard's letter to Isenbrandt Jurckensen, because he draws his sword on me everytime i enter the room.

What I usually do when I've upset all the people of a town: I just go to sailing mode and then return to the town. Usually people have forgotten about it by then. Especially if you go to mapmode as well. It's worth a try. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
i've tried that, its permenent.
i went all the way back to redmond, got a different ship, and came all the way back to QC and they were still hostile.
i'll have to reinstall the game and mods all over again, because the ccc buildingset mod on the FTP has made the game conk out again, it keeps complaining that there is an error in ENGINE.exe
so i'll have to start from scratch anyway, unless the latest post build mod overwrites those files.
 
I think installing the latest modpack should overwrite the Building Set files. The files on the FTP aren't 100% compatible with the modpack, so that might cause trouble. I will soon make a modpack update that does contain the new Building Set working with the modpack.

Can't you start a new game instead of installing all over again?
 
no, the building set problem doesn't let me even start the Pirates of The Caribbean program, never mind starting a new game.
